Here are a few Pics from a freelance job i am working on and potential comic strip, and web logo design.

Lots of character development and fun use of like weights and that jazz! Ignore some of the notes, unless you are Bob. Feedback is much appreciated!

Caricature Boredom Pt. 2

Some other random works of art that happened while freelancing including a Zack Braff from "Scrubs", and these 3 ghetto fabulous kids at Valleyfair! Also sme airbrush, sketch compositions.

BJ and Joe

So two of my best friends came out to the mall of america this summer when i was drawing caricatures and asked to be drawn. It is usually dead out there depending on the day, and this happened to be one of those days...

The guys sat down and i took it to em. One of my better live drawings, and good overall likeness of Joe. "Mr. Combover" Kuzinar, as i like to call him in the drawing. Joe is on the right and BJ is on the left.

Let me know what you think.

Forgotten posts

Here is an image from the st. louis trip i took with my closest buds earlier this summer. many interesting and funny memories occurred on this trip and i felt like this would be a great keepsake, and documentation of the trip we took. Attached is the line drawing, online coloring and a photo of all of us on the trip.

pardon how we look... there may or may not have been drinking involved.

Long time no see...

Man i am bad at this! I have been really busy going back to school, playing shows, writing music and drawing to actually sit down and put some letters on this blog. Now i do have some time and it is 1 in the morning!

ANYHOO, here are a few images i have been goofing around with lately. Some old, some new. Retouching some and new ideas.

The first image is a poster i made for one of my upcoming music shows. I was working with layering and vector mask techniques and think this is pretty successful.

The other images are works from my senior art show that i have been cleaning up and getting ready to put into and e-portfolio.

Feedback welcome.

Enjoy, Tim

Caricature Boredom!

So i haven't posted in a while but have been meaning to. So i have been doing all these random doodles, and finally got around to photograph them and clean em up a bit. When there is down time at the park, i find myself sketching... this is what i got! The top is a emulation of a Wellenfang "Bush", the next three are just random, and a close up of one. Pretty rough, and probably not very interesting but what ev! More will follow! I have a bunch!

Madly, Tim

Matt Hennen told me to post this... so here it is!

This pic was the first draft of the Twins shirt i was going to create.
Needless to say my friends thought it was "crude"... i'll let you be the judge!

Hey Hey! I did something!

So, I did this drawing a few weeks back of a t-shirt logo. The shirt will be used on our trip to St. Louis in a few weeks! Here is a color and a B & W version! Enjoy... only good comments! :)

More to come... Bitches!

God, i need to draw more!

SO, i haven't really been doing anything lately other than Valleyfair and the MOA, but i promise that i will start updating this thing a lil bit more! Marc Anderson and i worked a gig out in Goodhue MN which i have OWNED for a couple years now! It is always nice to have some of the high school girls hit on ya! jk... kinda. In all, the drawings were swell, and the snus's were ripe! Marc may be the only one that gets that!

Other than that i have had an insane amount of time invested in my music. For those of you that haven't seen me play, check out my link. I may be playing a show on the 20th of this month, so feel free to come and listen!

I will get some images up shortly, but until then... you know! Just keep doin what yer doin!

Caricature Studies... Part 3

Here is number 3! My youngest brother Jacob. He is a goofy looking lil kid, but really adorable! You can be the judge of the likeness! Not much exaggeration again, but i think it looks good!

Peace out homies,

Caricature Studies... Part 2

Here is another post... but it's about me instead of my brother. At Valleyfair we are supposed to do a caricature of ourselves and i have always had a hard time with it. So, here is my first run of i am sure MANY!

Once again, see if you can tell the difference! ;)

Likeness is MEH, but oh well. Sometimes it is really hard to draw someone who is already goofy looking!

Anyways, I'm out.

Caricature Studies...

So here we are, a few weeks before the start of the caricature season and i am a lil bit rusty! Thus, i have decided to do some practice drawings. This is the first, of i am sure many, drawings i will do. And for convenience i am drawing family members. Here is Tony, my older brother. He is a little heavy-set and for the most part has similar features to myself. Being a caricature artist you can either run with this, or play with it appropriately. Since i will be working commercially, it will be more beneficial for money making if i am P.C.

Posted are the drawing, and an image of my big brudduh. Try and guess which is which!?!

There are strong strengths and weaknesses with this drawing but for the most part, i think it turned out well! Feel free to post comments!

Sincerely your nickname making friend,

Tim "El Diablo" Howe

Drawing Babies, WAHHHHH!

So for this post, i was looking online for freelance jobs and came across one looking for children, "specifically babies" and thought i would do some drawing. I worked with pencil, and sharpie and came up with this lil' diddy! I tried to add some caricature to the proportions and in doing so, the drawings became much more illustrated than originally thought! In all, i think it is a good practice for some linework, and for under drawing techniques. There is also a close-up of the kid in the hat. He is my favorite i think!

Comment if you must! Criticism appreciated!

Oldie but a goodie!

Posting here is a link to the website i made for myself like 2 years ago. It was for a basic computer imagery course but looking at it now, i am not too mothered by it! Hell, it got me an "A"

Anyways, Here is the link:

On the site, although outdated, is a brief synopsis of some of the work i was doing at the time. Rough, but successful none-the-less.

Here are a few images from the site:

Check it out if you are bored, otherwise any feedback would be nice! Let me know if there is anything specific you want to see as well!

Until next time,

Dad's Birthday Invitation

So everyone, it has been a lil while AGAIN since my last post, but this one I felt was a good one! My dad has a 50th Birthday coming up soon and i wanted to pay tribute by drawing a caricature of him for his invitation! So, here it is! I placed the drawing into the program "Comic Life" and finished it that way. I think the likeness is pretty swell, especially if you know my papa! Well, I hope everyone enjoys! Until next time!

Political Sketching

This was just a practice sketch of the big "O" created because I was bored and decided to draw tonight. The benefits to being a graduate from college and having major priorities the following day... jk.

There are a few things I like, but a whole lot more that I find needs work. The overall likeness is a miss I feel, but the sketch on the left has the most success. I also really enjoy the body type of the Obamanator. I haven't been sketching as much as I should be, but this is a good start to getting back into it! Any criticism will be read...

Checking In

So, it has been a while since i was able to post in this thing! So, now i feel is a good time to try and play catch up!

For those that don't know me, i have always been into music! Singing and guitar mostly! So i have focused a lot of time and energy into writing and releasing a demo cd. For a quick look at my music that i have posted (and they are rough recordings) check out

Other than that, i have been trying to keep up with sketching and freelance work. Art seems to be the greatest focus of mine, whether it be drawing, writing, or music. For more posts, i will try to keep the blog updated!

Thanks again for checking me out!
