WOLVES!!!

So, these two images were a great example of minor and major tweaking to satisfy the customers needs! The first image is much more plain, with the general idea of the moon being the softball, the wolf howling at it, and the type hand drawn and added in. After ideation with the client, I unified the drawing by putting it closer together compositionally, adding in the clouds, and incorporating the type into the drawing more.
Successful, YUP! I think so. Let me know what you think?

My big Brother's Logo

So, my older brother, Tony who i had draw a LOOOONNNNNG time ago in one of my earlier posts, needed a logo created for his website he was working on. The logo was for a site called, "PC PART SWAP" and was basically about that... PC Part Swapping. lol
ANYHOO, the basic theme was the arrows simulating the "SWAP" idea. I thought, keeping the logo simple would increase it's versatility. My brother agreed. So, I used the very standard "Light Blue" color pertaining to the default color for most computer backgrunds. Then, after goofing around with font choices, I came up with this!
Lots of neat things going on here, even though it looks like there isn't much going on! haha
Enjoy! Comments welcome!

WALLY!!!!

This was a commissioned work for my cousin's friend. He owns a liquor store... wanted it to be similar to the "Menards" Caricature logo...
Too bad I think that logo is U'BER BORING. So, I made a better one!
Using lot's of different line weights, pencil sketching, inking, image cleaning, and mutiply color layers, I came up with THIS bad boy!
Let me know what you think!

Timothy Howe Music Shtuff

Here are a couple of promotional works for my music business! Both poster designs. The photograph was taken by my good friend Jordan Ewert! INCREDIBLE photographer and all around guy! Check out his page: http://jordanewertphoto.com/
I did some adjustments to the gradients and created the faded look toward the bottom. Also incorporated the previously created logo as the header. Looks pretty good, if i do say so myself. The singer is pretty sharp looking too! ;)
The next poster utilizes some of my letter/type face manipulation. The drawing itself is a free hand interpretation of music elements (similar to my senior show work) andformatted in black and white, I think it turned out mighty successful!
Comments welcome...

WSL Logo Design

Recently, i have been doing some freelance work for creating a logo for the WSL "Wrestling Superstars League" I have been through several trial and definitely error runs and come out with a few designs that i really enjoy. It's nice to get back into coloring digitally and making finished .jpg works. The font i feel needs a littlebit more, but they are good starts.
Any sugestions/comments, let me know!
Thanks all!

Painting, Painting, Painting...

Well, Happy New Year all!
For my first post of 2011, I FINALLY finished a work that I did for my girlfriend's birthday. It is a painterly rendition of a photo that was taken while we were up in Duluth, MN. We were on the shore of Lake Superior and the lighting was really nice. Needless to say this photo was taken and I loved it. So, I decided to paint...
The canvas is 36"x 48".
Medium: acrylic paint, sharpie, graphite
Layers, layers and more layers!!! This is probably the most time I have ever taken on a single painting. Weeks of work went into this creating abstraction of the rock, and other forms and making them work in harmony with one another. The finished product is successful, i feel. Comments are encouraged and I will try to update with a high quality photo soon.
Hang in there until next time!

Photo Retouching
So, in my incredibly busy musical lifestyle... I sometimes find time to get back to my artistic roots. So, I saw a picture my sister in law disliked and did some work to it. The original photo had her cousin’s hand holding onto the table behind them. After using a blur tool and clone stamp, I was able to blend the background color to mask the hand. Also using the pencil tool I was able to add shadows and highlights to the metallic legs of the table. Then blurring the lower half of everything behind the couch, I created a deeper depth of field.
The next set is from my lovely girlfriends sister's family...whew! Yeah, similar technique used but a great finished product non-the-less. If only babies would smile on command all the time... well, i wouldn't have a job then, but oh well!
The final outcomes are pretty successful. Comments or shortcuts encouraged. Until next time...

Musician Business Card

While trying to advance my portfolio as an artist, I was lucky enough to work on my own promotion. Here is the finished logo for my musician business card. Its fun to get back in to photoshop and illustrator and manipulate some of my work. There are 3 to 4 different layers in this work and thanks to some collaboration with fellow designer, Alan Briggs, we were able to reach this conclusion.
ENJOY!

REFORM MAN
This my friends is one of the first EVER published works i have done. My sophomore year of college I was commissioned to do this illustration about a "Super Hero" surronded by the idea of eminant domain. This was the final product.
Looking back now, i see there was a lot to be desired from this drawing, but there is far more that could have been changed. In all, i'm cool with it! My work now is MUCHO BETTER!
Feel free to comment!

Foot In The Door 4 Submission

Hey all! When looking through this old work, I have stumbled on some goodies here. This is the work i did for the "Foot In The Door 4" Open entry art show at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Design. The work is titled "Functionality In Chaos" and is a compilation of found object/abstract imagery. The work is in pencil, ink, on paper.
Unfortunately, I was unable to make it to the retrieval period to return the piece. So, It is out there somewhere. Let me know if you find it! It's one of a kind!
